Print analysis

RBK 50 cent advert

50 cent is some one who represents 'Gangsta rap'.
'Gangsta' rappers are shown to be aggressive and serious and also when they rap what they say is mostly aggressive and serious. The advert above is black and white. The black and white colour way of the advert above gives that aggressive and serious tone also the expression on 50 cents face. Their is a medium shot of 50 cent on the left side which takes up about half of the print and in that shot he is wearing a cap sideways with only a vest on and chain around his neck also has diamond earrings on. The clothes he is wearing in the photo represents the 'hood' as the style is common among the people in the streets of america. The half of the print that has the picture of 50 cent also has the text 'i am' i think it was purposely put there and what it may be trying to say is that everyone should know who he is just by looking at him. The other half of the print has a quote from 50 cent, finger prints and the text 'what i am'. From the text and quote we can infer that 50 cent's past makes him who he is today and  the finger prints can mean that he wants to show that he is different from others. The finger prints can also imply that he may have been involved in criminal activity in the past. The text together reads 'i am what i am' from that we can infer he means no one can change who he is. The logo of RBK is also on the print to promote the company RBK.
